My husband (Dude) and I (Sadge) started this blog to chronicle our pregnancy. We continue it to keep family and friends updated, to reflect on the past present and future, to connect, to leave something behind.
Bodhi - enlightening or awake, also my son’s name.
Before my son was born, before we knew his name, or even knew his sex, this blog was born. Excited about our pregnancy, we wanted to record it, to share it.
Dude came up with the name; I was less than pleased. “There is no way, I am going to name my son or daughter—Bodhi; that is ridiculous."
Then Boddhi was born (we added a d—weird numerology reasons), and that name was hi(m)s. I tried Jude, Harper, Atticus, Mitchell; his name was Boddhi; it surrounded him like a scent; it felt right.
His name fits him, but it also symbolizes our (collective) search for oneness, enlightenment, the ultimate knowing. The meaning of our blog grew from a description of our baby to a description of our lives.
